Oliver Rubber Introduces New Premium Tread
New Oliver tread features advanced tread compound
FINDLAY, OHIO, NOVEMBER 28, 2006 – COOPER TIRE & RUBBER COMPANY (NYSE:CTB) and its subsidiary Oliver Rubber Company, recently introduced a new premium retread – the Vantage Drive. This retread features a new, technologically advanced tread compound called “Black Armor,” which offers the benefits found in premium truck tires. The Vantage Drive will revolutionize how retreads are viewed.
Oliver’s new Vantage Drive tread design and new compound work in tandem to provide low cost per mile and improved fuel economy. This new tread is designed to perform best in long-haul applications, but also performs exceptionally well in regional applications. Vantage Drive delivers remarkable treadwear with exceptionally low rolling resistance that optimizes fuel efficiency, while delivering long-lasting casing durability.
Oliver puts all of its products through rigorous testing. The Vantage Drive is no exception. Extensive real-world testing by Oliver and an independent testing facility have proven that this new retread delivers up to 4 percent better fuel economy than the best-in-class retreads on the market. Giving you one more reason to choose Oliver.
Utilizing state-of-the-art precure process technology, Oliver’s new Vantage Drive with Black Armor goes the distance. This retread offers a feature exclusive to Oliver called VDiplus™, a visual depth indicator that helps enforce any pull point schedule plus a stone ejector.
The Vantage Drive is available in 205mm (8), 210mm (8.5N), 220mm (9) and 230mm (9.5) sizes with a deep 26/32-inch tread depth, and is designed and recommended for drive positions in long-haul, over-the-road applications. This tread fits most tire sizes used on over-the-road vehicles, including 19.5 through 24.5-inch sizes. The tread offers dramatic V-shaped grooves and the premium closed shoulder design is locked to provide excellent tread stability for even wear.
With Oliver’s new premium retread with “Black Armor,” we’re continuing to change the ground rules.
